Accessory Options
Vertex-Standard VXA-150 Pro V Air
Band Transceiver.
Another Vertex Standard Airband
Transceiver exclusive is the Receive
Battery Saver feature. This automatic
power-save function extends normal
operating time and maximizes the life of
the Ni-Cd battery by de-energizing the
transceiver’s circuitry in the standby
mode.
NiCD Battery and Charger Included
Every VX-150 is supplied with the FNB-64
rechargable NiCD Battery and battery
charger, providing greater convenience
and lower long-term operating cost
compared to radios requiring "AA" cells.
And the extended-life FNB-V57 NiCD
Battery provides 50% more capacity, for
operation over long periods of time.
150 Memory Channels
50 Regular Memory channels and 100
"Book" Memory channels can store just
about any commonly used operating
frequencies. Convenient Alpha-Numeric
display titling makes recalling
information stored in the memory
channels quick and easy.
Direct Frequency Entry via Back-Lit
Keypad
 Simply enter the desired channel
frequency directly from the 16-button
keypad, then press the PTT (Push to
Talk) switch to transmit. There's no
need to store frequencies into memory
before you can operate on them.
One Touch Squelch Control
Breaking the squelch threshold has never
been easier. Press the monitor (MON)
button for 2 seconds and the Pro V's
squelch remains opened for monitoring
weak and distant signals. Pressing MON
again restores squelch settings. This is
TRUE one-handed operation. No need to
fumble with thightly spaced concentric
knobs.
Receive Battery Saver
This feature is designed to maximize the
life of the supplied NiCD battery. When
the Pro V is in the standby mode the
battery saver de-energizes the
transceiver's circuitry, waking it up at
user-selected intervals to sample for
radio activity. If no activity is
detected the Pro V goes back into it's
sleep mode. Current consumption is
minimized while battery life is
maximized. This feature is only found in
Vertex/Standard airband transceivers.
NOAA Weather Channels (USA Version
only)
The Pro V can receive all 10 NOAA
weather broadcast frequencies. Automatic
Active Weather Channel Locator (A
Vertex/Standard Exclusive) automatically
scans for active NOAA weather stations
in your area when WX band is selected.
Menu Mode
The Pro V allows easy access to the Menu
("Set") mode. The "Set" mode is a
straightforward and intuitive feature
for changing the operating parameters of
the Pro V. This allows easy user access
to squelch settings, clearing memory
information, scanning, scan lamp, keypad
beep, battery saver settings,
display/keypad backlighting, and
priority channel check time.
3-Way Display Tilting
Only Vertex/Standard Airband
transceivers offer you one0stroke access
to three different methods of displaying
memory channel information: Frequency,
Channel Number, or Alpha-Numeric title.
Headset Adapter Included
The CT-60 headset adapter is a
convenient way to operate the Pro V with
your favorite aviation headset,
intercom, and external push-to-talk
switch. The internal Monitor feature
will allow you to monitor your
transmitted audio through your headset
in noisy cockpit environments.
